The 3pp Gel Mate Silicone Gel Sheet is a self-adherent medical-grade silicone gel sheet for scar management. This medical silicon gel sheeting has been proven to soften and improve the appearance of new and old scars.

The 3pp Gel Mate Silicone Gel Sheet is self-adherent on one side and backed by an anti-microbial bacteria-resistant cloth that glides under clothing. Unlike gel or creams, only silicone gel sheeting applies long-term light pressure on scars to help flatten and soften raised scars, and help prevent the formation of hypertrophic (thickened) or Keloid scars. Silicone gel has also been shown to add a hydrating effect to the scar and surrounding skin, increasing skin mobility and faster healing. The silicone gel sheet is applied when the wound is fully closed. The advantage of silicone gel sheeting is the gentle pressure it applies to not only the surface of the scar but the scar tissue underneath. The gel sheet helps to align collagen fibers to aid in healing wounds and prevent scars from limiting the motion of the ligaments and tendons under the skin. This is especially important for scars on the hand or foot where tendons and ligaments are quite superficial and scar tissue can limit motion. A measurement grid on the back of the sheet makes it easy to cut the right size and can be used to measure the progress as the scar heals. The silicone gel sheet should be worn a minimum of 12 hours a day and up to 22 hours depending on the location and age of the scar. To improve the adherence of the gel sheet, the skin should be clean and dry prior to applying. 3pp Gel Mate Silicone Gel Sheet is made of medical-grade silicone and is hypoallergenic, durable, washable, and 100% latex-free.
