June is an ironic month. June is National Fresh Fruit and Veggies Month as well as National Candy Month. We're not sure who created these observances nor who was in charge of scheduling, but what we do know is that we have everything you need to enjoy a fresh snack, be it a healthy bowl of pineapple or a decadent serving of fun size chocolate.
The candy bowl tradition
It is common for people to make their homes more welcoming by laying out a bowl of candy on a counter top or a desk. This can also be done at work, although you have to be careful, because once you start offering your coworkers a daily supply of sweet tooth satiation, they will have high expectations that you will keep the candy bowl filled to an appropriate level.
Candy bowls slip and slide
Whatever your situation, if you like to have a bowl of candy (or fruit, of course) lying around, it can be hard to quickly grab a bite if the candy bowl slips around. For those with loss of upper extremity strength or range of motion, trying to scoop up a handful of M&Ms may result in spilling candy over the side of the bowl or worse, accidentally sliding the bowl off the table and onto the floor.
The Freedom solution
Freedom Snack Bowl with Suction Pad Base
One option is using our Freedom Snack Bowl with Suction Pad Base. This bowl has a high, 2-inch depth, which facilitates adequate scooping motions. Furthermore, it has a larger diameter than those small candy bowls that are tedious to use for just about anyone. However, the most important aspect of the Freedom Snack Bowl with Suction Pad Base is the special design of the Suction Pad Base, which is attached and removed easily through the use of special tabs. It will keep your candy bowl from sliding around as you dive in for that sugary fix.
The non-skid option
Skidtrol Non-Skid Bowl
Yet another option that may be appropriate for you is the Skidtrol Non-Skid Bowl. Instead of using a suction base to keep the bowl in place, the Skidtrol Non-Skid Bowl has a non-skid ring on the bottom to prevent slipping and sliding. While this special non-skid ring is not as strong as the Suction Pad Base of the Freedom Snack Bowl, it is what you want if you just need a little protection against sliding.
Celebrate Candy Month (and Fruit and Veggies Month) with these adaptive bowls that would be a great addition to your counter top.
Don't forget to let your friends know that they have an excuse this month to splurge just a little more on their favorite candy treat. Fruit and veggies are also encouraged for health reasons, but whatever you put in your Freedom Snack Bowl or Skidtrol Non-Skid Bowl is none of our business!
