My 91 year old father developed a palsy in his one usable hand, because of age and a stroke. He has been inconvenienced and embarrassed by it for years. Being from the" greatest generation", he really dislikes anything that holds him back, or in his mind makes him appear weak. For Christmas, among other items to help the issue, I purchased the Keatlery Weighted Spoon for Dad. Because of dementia I hoped it would not go into the large supply of adaptive things we have put in his life that go unused or forgotten. Although I am disabled, Dad lives nearby and we speak by phone several times a day. While I have not witnessed him using the spoon myself, Dad told me, "I love it, and can't believe how much it helps my shaky hand. I can get food from the plate to my mouth now with no problem." The next day after that , my husband who cares for him along with two professionals and my sister, confirmed that Dad's problem at meal times has become a non-issue, because of the improvement the Keatlery Weighted Spoon spoon provides him.
