The
Pan Holder
is a kitchen aid that helps make stirring a pan with one hand easier. The wire frame holds the handle of a pot or pan while the user stirs the contents.
The Pan Holder wire frame is covered with epoxy to protect cook top ranges and pans from scratches. The holder is designed to help prevent spills by preventing the pan from accidentally turning. Three suction-cup feet secure the holder on the stove. Two vertical rods hold the handle to keep the pot or pan from spinning while contents are being stirred. The adapted pan holder works best on electric stoves and holds handles up to 5 inches above base. The frame measures 10.5 inches long, 9 inches deep, 5.5 inches high. The stove top Pan Holder helps make stirring pots with one hand easier.

kinda works
I bought this for my wife to use. She suffered a stroke and has very limited use of her left side. She wanted to try and cook again but can't hold the handle of any pot or pan while stirring. the opening is a little too big to hold the pan handle that sits low in the pan holder so it doesn't grip it well even if i bend it. Still, it kinda holds the pan in the vicinity of the element so it's better than nothing. she's able to do a little cooking again so that's awesome seeing her get more independent.

PERFECT, PERFECT ITEM
I am very grateful to my mother's OT therapist for telling us about this product. It is a big help and adds extra safety, due to the fact that after my mother's stroke she has still not regained full use of her left hand. But, this helps her to still be functional and she's happy doing things again, little by little!!! THANK YOU for this great product.

This item is very useful, but it has its limitations. First of all, if you have stovetop burners with drip pans, it will only fit the 6" burner--it's too small to go around an 8" burner. The other issue I have with it is the height of the bars--just fine for pots, but when used with a frying pan, they stick up so high as to interfere with utensil use. Manufacturer should make 2 sizes... this one that can be used with pots on a 6" burner, and one with a lower profile that will fit the 8" burner to be used with pans.

will this work on a gas stove?

as stoves typically have an elevated deck that a pot sits on. The Pot Holder is 5 1/2 inches high so you might want to measure from the top of the stove to the handle of a pot to make sure the Pot Holder is high enough.

The manufacturer states the suction cups can handle up to 140 degrees F. Any hotter and they will begin to melt.

Q:
Your measurements of 16x4 don't compute . My large burner is 10" so legs need to be a little wider . The handle on the pan is about 5" from the cooktop so needs to be about 6" tall . What do you think ? Thanx for your help .

A:
You are correct, 16x4 does not compute, it is actually 9" wide x 5 1/2" high. The height of your handle should be fine, it will still sit 1/2" in the frame. However, you will probably have to bend the frame out some to handle an eye that large.

I would think so. As long as the top is not getting too hot where you have the suction cups. Anything over 150 degrees F will melt the suction cups.

The section that holds the handle goes all the way down so it will work with pans as well. It is primarily for a small burner, however you can probably bend it out to work with larger burners.
