Thomas Steady Arm - Discontinued

The Thomas Steady Arm is an arm support designed for use by children and adults who have arm and hand tremors. The user's right or left arm is placed in the trough-style arm holder, the straps secured, and the tension adjuster set to counter the tremors. The unit clamps to a tabletop or to a wheelchair. This arm support device enables the user to feed him or herself, write, turn pages, and other daily living tasks.

"A woman hadn't fed herself in 14 years because of heavy tremors." Ms. Christie recalled. "I wanted to invent something that would emulate an arm, something that would stabilize movement." Rebecca Christie never had visions of becoming an inventor. But as an occupational therapist who worked with a woman who had Parkinson's Disease and multiple sclerosis, she wanted to improve the quality of life of people who have difficulty using their arms.The Thomas Steady arm is designed for all ages and is dishwasher safe.
